do sljedećeg čitanja!

ADZ – Were Were You? LP (Gummopunx) 75 KN

Reissue of a fine 1992 punk album. ADZ was supposed to be kind of a restart for The Adolescents under another name. It includes Adolescents and D.I. members Tony Adolescent (vocals), Rikk Agnew (guitar), Mike Rouse (bass), Casey Royer (drums) and Roger Ramjet (guitar, back up vocals). Edition of 500 LP’s. A little masterpiece strongly reminding of classic Adolescents debut.

Belgrado – Siglo XXI (La Vida Es Un Mus) 90 KN Barcelona’s Belgrado return with their second album ‘Siglo XXI’ and first for La Vida Es Un Mus. The 11 track album melds dark and dreamy goth and post punk with a stunning and clear production. The bass leads and drives each track into the batcave whilst the vocals yearn and ache on top. This record has a clear 80’s English influence (Killing Joke, Vex, A Touch of Hysteria, Blood and Roses etc) but it also very modern day Barcelona with the reverb as important as an instrument and totally DIY. 2011’s excellent self titled LP has been bettered in sound, production and song.

The LP comes in a thick black and white sleeve with artwork from drummer Jonathan also including a 30×30 insert, an extra lyric sheet and a 40×55 poster.

Condominium – Carl 7″ (Sub Pop) 40 KN

Yup, that’s the Sub Pop logo on the front of the latest Condominium single. It might seem like a head-scratcher at first, but it does make sense that Sub Pop would go for one of the most exciting and innovative bands in the current HC scene. So, what do Condo deliver? The first side is comprised of two hardcore bangers that are right up there with their best work… driving, desperate hardcore. The b-side indulges the band’s more experimental side; it sounds like all live instruments, but the song is built around an undeniably quirky riff.

All in all a very strong EP and a worthy addition to your growing Condominium collection.

Crisis – Hymns Of Faith 12″ (La Vida Es Un Mus) 90 KN

Hymns Of Faith’ by Crisis is finally re-released after some thirty years and yet it seems like only yesterday that I bought it upon its release. For thirty years, I have championed Crisis, like some kind of leper in the musical wilderness. I still cannot believe that La Vida Es Un Mus finally heard me. Very few records deserve the tag of classic, but ‘Hymns Of Faith’ is a classic record!

Recorded by a band that was in the throes of death, this mini-LP features seven tracks of political punk (although some would describe it as post punk, an insult of the worst kind), covering the political spectrum from the Italian Red Brigades to the Kanada Kommando of Auschwitz. The LP may have lacked the bite of the earlier singles, but ‘Hymns’ was innovative and original, and has never been bettered, yet alone equalled. Forget ‘Killed By Death’, this my friends is the real deal! After Crisis, Douglas P and Tony Wakeford formed Death In June and Luke Rendall joined Theatre Of Hate. Kneel and bow in reverence to ‘Hymns Of Faith’!

Crisis – Kollectiv 2 x 12″ (La Vida Es Un Mus) 130 KN
For the first time ever, the three Crisis singles are officially re-released on Vinyl along with demos from 77 and 78 and a simply stunning sounding live set from Norway in 1979. The debut 7″ from 1978 on Action Group Records, ‘No Town Hall’ features three stonewall punk classics. The next two singles ‘UK79’ and ‘Alienation’ make up the four tracks recorded for a John Peel Session in 1978. The lyrics are a product of the time against a backdrop of street fights with the National Front, violence at gigs, institutional racism within the police force, class division, industrial strife, sexual repression… Upon reflection not much has really changed in the last 35 years! Also included are demo tracks from 1977 and 1978 which are raw and basic punk just as you would expect. They have never been officially released on vinyl before. Sides Three and Four features a live set recorded when Crisis played Norway in 1979 which features all of the material that later turned up on ‘Hymns Of Faith’. The sound quality of the recording is so good it would pass as a studio recording.

The record comes housed in a tip on heavyweight sleeve with detailed liner notes, reviews, interviews, and a few unseen group photos. The sleeve picture taken in Kiev in 2012 couldn’t be more relevant, capturing the Zeitgeist – which was part of what Punk was all about in the first place.

Destino Final- Atrapados 12″ (La Vida Es Un Mus) 80 KN

INVASIÓN from Barcelona started in 2004, and after several line up changes they finally put out their first album on LVEUM in 2007. In 2008 they put out the ‘La Caza’ 12″ and toured the USA. After the USA tour there were some more line up changes, so they decided to change the name of the band. DESTINO FINAL is the new name but apart from that, little has changed.

‘Atrapados’ is an 9 track album of feedback and reverb drenched punk. It takes small slices of classic 80’s European hardcore, English Anarcho punk and DISCHARGE and makes something that is dense, desperate and twisted.

Framtid – Defeat Of Civilization 12″ (La Vida Es Un Mus) 90 KN

Eleven years after their already classic and genre defining “Under the Ashes” Osaka’s FRAMTID are back with a new LP. “Defeat of Civilization” is everything you would expect from FRAMTID. 10 tracks of crushing Japanese hardcore heavily influenced both by the sound and ideas of early Swedish hardcore but pushing to sound to the edge.

Mega distorted guitars, deep vocals and the most solid yet dynamic rhythm section you’ll ever witness are FRAMTID’s trademark as well as are their lyrics full of hope and their stark black and white graphics.

GENERACION SUICIDA – Todo Termina 12″ (Doomtown) 70 KN

Second 12″ from Generacion Suicida from South Central, Los Angeles.

This time around the group brings 9 tracks of their powerful trademark sound. They play melodic, angular and catchy punk with oscillating male/female vocals creating a serrated edge of paranoia and anxiety of a modern day LA.

This is real punk; rudimentary and raw but not in a dumb way; this is eloquent and it sounds like it coulda come out of LA in 1979 or just plain yesterday. They sing solely in Spanish and remind of bands from other countries, mainly Umea, Sweden; in the Ny Vag tradition of The Vicious and Masshysteri or Copenhagen’s Gorilla Angreb and No Hope For The Kids which sort of bring the sound back home to California because those Scandinavians borrowed heavily from Los Angeles’s past (late ‘70s Dangerhouse, especially). But this is not a ripoff band, not some knock off, not some imitation, not a homage or retro dress up party, this is what the group does best.

On this new 12″ GS sped it up; playing it even more blistering fast and melodic, almost sounding in places like a kind of melancholic take on pogo punk. Essential.

Hurula – Vi Ar Manniskorna Vara Foraldrar Varnade Oss For 12″ (No Good) 100 KN

New solo project from Robert Hurula Petterson (Masshysteri, The Vicious, Regulations), continuing where he left off with the last amazing Masshysteri album.

Hygiene – Public Sector 12″ (La Vida Es Un Mus) 75 KN

On their debut album Public Sector, Hygiene take the listener on a post-pub stagger through the concrete walkways and underpasses of Britain’s decline. Daydreaming at their offices on a weekday or at home with their record collection on a Saturday night, the members of Hygiene are dislocated in both time and space. Their LP has one DM boot in the past and the other longwing brogue firmly up the backside of the present. Public Sector hearkens back to a time of Polytechnic radicalism, Special Patrol Group repression and O Level temptresses yet evades the pitfalls of vapid historicity and pastiche. Hygiene see historical continuities and follow them to their logical conclusions, reducing their influences down to their essential constituent elements and reassembling them into now music for now people.

Inservibles – S/T 12″ (La Vida Es Un Mus) 75 KN

Coming from Mexico, a country where street executions and drug Lords are at war with everybody, INSERVIBLES can be described as the soundtrack of the mexican nightmare. Their deranged hybrid of negative hardcore with no-fi garage as been compared to NERORGASMO, RAW POWER, VOID or THE REATARDS. The 13 tracks contained on this LP may bring to mind some of those bands but there is something else behind all those layers of filth they call music.

Acid lyrics with a macabre sense of humour. Laughing as a statement against the world and a continuous vile-spit on the face of humanity. All housed in a tasteless jacket designed to fuck with your head.

Ivy – S/T 12″ (Katorga Works) 100 KN

Debut 12″ from this NYC band. Even though this is on Katorga Works it’s kind of more in the Toxic State camp… like those bands, there’s a kind of minimalist / artsy tendency at work while at the same time being straightforwardly, aggressively punk. You know their guitarist Shiva from Deformity and his Stooges-influenced wailing is in full effect here, and the vocalist previously sang in Brown Sugar and if you liked that band you’ll immediately recognize his unique vocal stylings.

Lakes – Carved Remains / A Face In The Ash (No Patience) 35 KN

The follow up single to last years incredible Blood of the Grove LP from Australian punk-punk group LAKES. One of the most exciting bands to emerge from the current Australian underground, Lakes features members of TEARGAS, TAX, ZOND, EASTLINK, and more.

Taking influence from cult acts such as Death In June and Current 93 and mixing the power and conviction of Crass Records era anarcho punk, aka The Mob—Lakes are the most realized offering from Australia to fit alongside the current international revival of the post-punk / gothic rock genres.

Limp Wrist – Want Us Dead 12″ (La Vida Es Un Mus) 80 KN

The cutest band in Hardcore is back with a slice of paint peeling hardcore punk loud and ugly enough to destroy your closet. European press of their recent one sided 12″ including seven new tracks in the A side and their Want Us Dead 7″ on the flip.

MRR #381 February 40 KN

MRR #381, the February 2015 issue, features a posthumous interview with the Pacific Northwest’s HYSTERICS conducted during their European tour, Liz Panella of EARTH GIRLS interviewing Scott Plant of BROKEN PRAYER and vice versa, and a mini-scene report highlighting Icelandic punk with an accompanying interview with Reykjavik’s BÖRN. We also talked to Oslo’s DARK TIMES who just released an excellent new LP Give, Madrid’s ACCIDENTE, London’s QUANGO, and Vancouver’s VACANT STATE, and we caught up with Mallorca’s excellent Metadona label. Our intrepid contributors documented Toronto’s Not Dead Yet fest for our photo spread and interviewed Texan punks WICCANS in between packed gigs at the fest.

All this plus book, movie, zine and demo reviews, all the columnist you love to hate (plus a couple new ones), and of course, the most extensive punk record review section in print.

Predator – The Complete Earth 12″ (Scavenger Of Death) 100 KN

Predator returns with a new full length chock full of balls. The Agnew and Wire influences still figure prominently while the vocals add a sardonic undercurrent that make for a fun listen. Good for pogo-ing or bad trips. 13 tracks, including 5 remixed cuts off of their recent tape. This lp sports a beefy production that finally captures the intensity and attitude of their live set. As always Lyric sheet included, you’re gonna want to read along with this one, especially what may be the first anti-skating punk song.

S.H.I.T. – Collective Uncounsciousness 7″ (Iron Lung) 40 KN

Sexual Humans In Turmoil (or our favorite: Skinheads In Tuxedos), more commonly known as S.H.I.T., debut with four urgently executed 100% uncommon hardcore punk tracks in the modern Toronto style.

Collective Unconsciousness speaks to a vast generation of sleeping strength and rusted mobility. It’s time. Organize. Stand tall. Believe in your movement. Check your spelling.

Honest, important music gets made less frequently then it should and gets noticed even less. Don’t be a dullard, wake up and smell the S.H.I.T.

S.H.I.T. – Feeding Time 7″ (Static Shock) 40 KN

Over the last couple of years, Toronto’s S.H.I.T. have come out of nowhere with their acclaimed demo tape, to releasing two killer 7″s, to even opening their own DIY venue, S.H.I.B.G.B’s.

They are now back with their third 7″ and it’s just as essential as the two preceding. You may remember ‘Feeding Time’ as the opening track off their demo, it has now been re-recorded and is now even more of a rager than before. On the flip, you get a brand new track, the slow burning ‘Private Lies’.

The package is wrapped up with perfect artwork by Sam Ryser (Crazy Spirit, Dripper World and Dawn Of Humans).

Straightjacket Nation – Live On PBS (No Patience) 75 KN

Originally released on cassette and limited to 100 copies, it’s been 5 and a half years since Melbourne’s STRAIGHTJACKET NATION first took to the airwaves and this incredible live set was captured. A band known around the world for their rabid live shows this recording comes closer to capturing that raw energy and power than any before or since. 11 tracks of Cleveland influenced hardcore fury for fans of 9 SHOCKS TERROR, and H100s, including a cover from short lived Sydney group MASSTRAUMA.

Searing guitar meets manic cat-in-a-bag style vocals backed up by relentless bass and drums. Wild and chaotic hardcore punk from one of the most respected bands in the country, featuring members of THE UV RACE, DICK DIVER, PISSCHRIST, BLOODY HAMMER, TOTAL CONTROL, EAST LINK, SUCIO PODER, and more.

The Freeze – Crawling Blind 12″ (Gummopunx) 75 KN

Boston punk/hc legends The Freeze’s ‘Crawling Blind’ finally appears on vinyl after 20 years. Released in ’94 on CD only, the 13 songs are now remastered for vinyl and sounding great. Now including three extra tracks, this issue offers 16 songs in total.

http://livinginadoomtown.bigcartel.com/product/the-freeze-crawling-blind-12-gummopunx

The Freeze – Freak Show 12″ (Gummopunx) 75 KN

Reissue of the Freeze’s 1995 LP, and it’s actually the first time this full-length has made it to vinyl. This came out at the peak of the 90s pop-punk scene, and while it definitely shows some influence from that scene (particularly in the rather clean production), this is still the Freeze and still has a ton of their rough-around-the-edges sound. If the only things you like are “I Hate Tourists” and Guilty Face this might not be for you, but if you can still get down with Land of the Lost I’d recommend checking this out, as it’s a high-energy, catchy punk album along the lines of that record or maybe Horse Bites-era DI.

http://livinginadoomtown.bigcartel.com/product/the-freeze-freak-show-12-gummopunx

The Love Triangle – Boomerang Girl 7″ (Dire) 35 KN

Brand new single from this excellent English combo featuring a couple of Shitty Limits. Like their earlier tapes and single, these two songs combine the frantic energy of early punk like the Buzzcocks with the tossed-off quality of 60s Nuggets comps and a killer raw 4-track recording. I dare you to listen to this single and not be chanting “booma booma booma RANG! RANG! RANG! RANG!” for days afterward.

Total Control – Typical System (Iron Lung) 110 KN

Finally, a new deep cut from Melbourne’s visceral post-punk band Total Control. Typical System, their second LP, was written, recorded, created over the past two years and is set for US/Worldwide release via Iron Lung Records on June 24th and self-release in Australia/New Zealand on June 20th.

Total Control emerged from Australia’s dynamic punk scene in ’08, releasing a succession of 7”s that developed from an aggressive post-punk band sound to studio forays into electronic forms from minimal wave to house. Their debut LP, Henge Beat, was commended as one of the few records released in 2011 that evaded the ease of classification and competent tribute act status of most modern bands.

Subsequently, they have released three very different records: a split 12” with Thee Oh Sees, a 7” single on Sub Pop and a house remix 12”. Typical System develops on the incongruent demands of their debut LP and ensuing releases, a further development on their continually evolving sound.

Vanna Inget – Allvar 12″ (Erste Theke) 80 KN

Vånna Inget is punk with pop melodies and melodic vocals. The inspiration for the album is a jumble of Tant Strul, Pink Champagne, The Go-Go’s, old Uggla, Håkan Hellström and Marked Men.

The album “Allvar” is filled with musical spontaneity without studio work with to much choirs and guitars and the new EP will be hold this level. It should sound so sad and vivid as possible. The album was recorded in guitarist Tommy Tift (Sista Sekunden) studio by the band themselves, the EP too. I told you that the new EP is the same level, maybe a little bit more sad and vivid and also amazing!

http://livinginadoomtown.bigcartel.com/product/vanna-inget-allvar-12-erste-theke

Warthog – Chain Wallet Sessions 7″ (Self released) 35 KN

Warthog are one of the best current wave of New York bands (featuring members of Ajax, Dawn Of Humans), and play relentless Pick Your King style hardcore punk. They’ve recently released two 7″s on Katorga Works and Iron Lung, but this 7″ is actually their first recordings, and is just as essential.

http://livinginadoomtown.bigcartel.com/product/warthog-chain-wallet-sessions-7-diy

XAXAXA / Plaids split 10″ (Strictly No Capital) 50 KN

Two cracking bands here, one you know and one you might not. plaids blow it up with a pair of intense, melodic rumblers. It’s like if current were on assorted porkchops. freak to the groove. XAXAXA play melodic emo punk with strained vocals. Brings to mind broccoli and Leatherface and snuffy smiles bands. Damn good. Throw in a great job on the artwork and a loopy bit of coloured vinyl (joe cee wanted it to look like a poppy, and i think it turned out just great) and you have the full package. High fives to black lake and the bands for making this release happen despite all the pot holes we drove into along the way.
